“It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness"
~ Confucius, famous Chinese thinker and social philosopher, (551-479 BC)
This is something to always work on. Make solutions instead of worsening a situation. It's easy to complain, but better to vent constructively and move on to better things.

Special Video
My buddy Adam put this great video together for his daughter's birthday. He used my song "L.A./Passing By." A good selection as he lives in L.A. and as we all know, time quickly goes by. Make the most of each day. Happy Birthday!

Compilations
I got some great news this week. One of my songs from Woods of Chaos was selected by a major business for a mood compilation CD, which will be distributed worldwide (physical release) in retail stores (the store is not decided or disclosed at the moment). However, it will be along the lines of Pottery Barn or the like.
I was also contacted not too long ago about getting "Return to Flat Rock" on a downtempo compilation CD, produced and distributed by a major label. Obviously, I'm hoping this moves forward.
I'm very pumped up about these opportunities, as I've been trying for over two years to get on such a compilation. It's great for exposure and will certainly help me on my musical mission. One more step ahead.
I'm very grateful and will continue to keep my head up and working on moving forward in this crazy industry. Slowly accomplishing the dream. The ground work is required, along with a strong passion and sense of persistence and patience (all items that I must continuously worked on).

It's a girl!
My wife and I are having a baby girl! I'm so excited. I grew up with 5 brothers and no sisters, so this will be a very fun and interesting adventure. However, my wife grew up with 3 sisters, no brothers. I'll be learning a lot from her.
I suppose I need to start the makeup, clothes and wedding fund ASAP. :)

Boy or Girl?
I can't tell you how excited I am. It's like an early Christmas. My wife and I find out the sex of our baby next week. I will announce the sex as soon as I know. Then comes the nursery, endless purchases, etc. :P

Numbers slumbers
“There is no safety in numbers, or in anything else."
~ James Thurber, American humorist, (1894-1961)
Absolutely. Even when you think you have it all, never think it can't go away. Greed, ignorance and taking things & people for granted are typically the cause of loss. Never settle. Never stop. Sounds obvious and possibly easy, but it happens more often than not. Plan, listen and always think twice.

Who's watching me?
Are Internet services crossing the line? With the rise of analytic tools that inform a site or blog author of who is coming to their site, where should the line be drawn?
Do people honestly believe Internet services did not previously track user activity? It just wasn't made available to site visitors and members. Now the visitor or member can track their own profile, blog or site for free or for a small fee.
I'm a fan of leaving it up to the user. MyBlogLog.com is a great resource. Only if I visit another person's community page within MyBlogLog will they see that I visited. The great tools surrounding the service are the analytical tools for individual sites or blogs. I can see how many unique readers I have, what they clicked, where they came from, but not who they are (which is fine with me). However, with public content, we do have rights. Some of the available analytic tools in the end may help with Internet fraud and predators.
Is it really the site tracking you who's the "stalker" or is it you? It's up to you in the end how often you visit a site, blog or profile and how much information you wish to make public in your own Internet community profiles, blogs, and sites.
