Favorite Holiday Music

For those into holiday music…

I'm typically stuck on a George Winston's December and Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas. A lot of the reasons have to do with the smooth delivery and relaxing vibe. It's original, unlike so much holiday music on the market.

Sarah McLachlan just released Wintersong, her first holiday album. I have not yet purchased, but the samples and reviews are great. Trumpet stud, Chris Botti (fellow Hoosier grad… yah baby!), released December in late October. Again, I don't have this album yet, but it's receiving high praise.

Grace and Thanks

“God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things that can be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish one from the other.”
~ Reinhold Niebuhr, American clergyman and author of the prayer from which the common version of The Serenity Prayer is taken. (1892-1971)

This is such a great message. One of my favorites. Even though it's not an official Thanksgiving around the world tomorrow, it's still a new day and a time thanks for what we have and the ability to do can be given to God and fellow humans. Take time to shine some positive vibes on this troubled world.

Annapolis

Hanging out on Dock Street in Annapolis, MD. This is a beautiful city. Hung out at the Naval Academy yesterday and had a fantastic meal at Middleton Tavern last night (great steak). Today I'm taking a ferry tour of historic Annapolis. Another fantastic fall day. It's been a great weekend so far.

Live and learn from the past... don't dwell in it
