My wife and I took a visit to our alma mater (Indiana University) this past weekend. So nostalgic going back to the campus. Good times, however, IU lost against Iowa in basketball. I get all bent out of shape watching IU basketball.
The Sample Gates entrance is a hot photo spot. Edson Sample funded construction of the gates in 1987 and dedicated them to his parents, Louise Waite Sample and Kimsey Ownbey Sample Sr. The gates, constructed of Indiana limestone, mark the entrance to the Old Crescent, the site of IU's historic campus buildings built between 1884 and 1908.
